Key Issues
Jennifer Naperala is a mother, teacher, and longtime advocate for fairness in local government. She’s not a career politician — she’s someone who believes in rolling up her sleeves to make systems work for everyday people.

From her years in the classroom to her leadership in civic life, she’s seen firsthand how local government can do better — and she’s ready to lead that change.
She’s running to be your next Commissioner of the Revenue to make sure that not only are your financial obligations to the city clear, fair, and just; but she's also running to implement a series of services through the Commissioner's Office.

Jennifer believes elected officials' most important obligation is to serve the people. With that in mind, Jennifer wants your interaction with the Commissioner's Office to be much more than paying a yearly personal property tax bill or a business license renewal fee. Jennifer wants the people who live and do business in Chesapeake to see the Commissioner's Office as a service first, not a dreaded obligation.

Under Jennifer’s leadership, the Commissioner's Office will no longer be a quiet corner of Chesapeake's city government. It will be a powerful tool for equity, education, and empowerment.
